Sports Chiropractic in Mt Gravatt
Athletes of all ages and skill levels subject their body to additional stresses, which can lead to injury or poor performance. BodyWise Chiropractic offers chiropractic care targeted to the specific needs of athletes.
How Is Chiropractic Different From Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy can be excellent at prescribing appropriate exercises to strengthen or rehab a body part, but in most cases, physios don’t find out if that body part is connected to the brain. If you have a rotator cuff injury and do exercises to strengthen it, unless those muscle groups are connected to the brain, you’ll recruit different muscles to do the exercises, and you won’t get the results you’re looking for.
Dr Daniel Bank (Chiropractor) uses kinesiology to determine if the muscles are connected, and if they’re not, he restores that brain-body connection through targeted chiropractic adjustments.
How We May Help
Unless a muscle is completely torn, we can often provide easy, gentle solutions that don’t involve drugs or surgery. Some conditions chiropractic may be able to help with include
- Unstable ankles
- Unstable knees
- Throwing arm problems
- Pain with training
- Running biomechanics
- Throwing biomechanics
Any dysfunctions can be helped by assessing the body, finding the problem, and correcting it so that the body works better.
Who May Benefit
We work with many trainers, coaches and players from many sports, including cricket, rugby and racquet sports. Dr Daniel loves helping kids who play sports establish good biomechanics early on, to help prevent injuries or dysfunction later on. Even professional athletes benefit from ensuring their body is properly connected to their brain, so that all their muscle groups work as they should.
Extra Support
In some cases, a patient may need extra support while a joint heals, so Dr Daniel will show you how to wrap the joint correctly. He will also prescribe strengthening and stabilising exercises, once your body holds your adjustments and the connection to your brain is restored.
